Welcome to the Valley Stream Swim Team. We are much more than a club, we want you to be part of our swimming family.  The team should be more than just a place to work out; we want it to be a pleasurable experience for both your child and your family.

We will be relying on our parents from time to time to accomplish specific goals and meet certain requirements.  These needs can be helping at the scorers’ table, timing, keeping the team together during swim meets or helping to run one of the many fund raisers.

Practice is from 5:30 - 6:30 PM in the water for younger and new swimmers usually 9 years of age and 6:30 to 6:45 on land exercising.  The older swimmers and invited younger swimmers practice from 6:00 – 6:30 on land with medicine balls and stretch cords and from 6:30 to 8:30 PM in the water.  Swimmers must be at the pool early enough to be IN THE WATER at the start of their water time.  Parents must be at the pool at the end of practice to pick up their children.

We are looking forward to a fun filled and exciting season.  If you have any questions feel free to contact any of the coaches, but please do not take them away from the pool during practice sessions.

See you in the pool,

George J. Amitrano Jr.

Do boost everyone’s spirits.

Do applaud everyone’s good swim.

Do discuss what good things the Team has done lately.

Do encourage every parent to work at meets.

Do behave as adults - you are there to support your children!

Do be sure they are warm, fed, on time, etc.

Don’t ever say you didn’t try.

Don’t criticize swimmers on our team or the other team

Don’t spend your time as the perpetuator of rumors.

Don’t make meets an adult party pay attention to the swimmers.

Do let the swimmers know you love them ... with good or bad swims.
